Re Move/Rename Issues
[edit]There is an on-going discussion on merging Lemony Snicket with Daniel Handler, and other proposals for dealing with the various roles the term "Lemony Snicket" is used in. Such discussion should be centralized, and the part of it that has been contributed on this page has been moved into the more extensive discussion at Daniel Handler#Merge with Lemony Snicket, without prejudice as to which title should be on any merged article, or to other approaches than a merge.

While it's a more direct picture of Snicket, and looks more like Handler, I'm not sure that it really represents Snicket's character; one of the faceless, smartly-dressed pictures would say more about who he is and what he does than a gimmick picture themed after a single book. In short, I think it should be changed back, or possibly changed to another, sharper Snicket picture, like the real Snicket photograph in the back of Chapter Fourteen. 81.152.38.112 07:31, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
- It's now been changed back, so there's no longer a problem. 217.42.65.113 12:12, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
- Yea, that could be a picture of anybody. DaffyBridge (talk) 22:17, 19 October 2011 (UTC)
missing picture of snicket
[edit]there used to be a picture of snicket on his page (hope this link works, apologies if not) https://i.pinimg.com/736x/c2/dc/fa/c2dcfa0f3b2741519f1323bceb9d841d--daniel-handler-national-book-award.jpg. now there is only a picture of patrick warburton as snicket. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.252.123.155 (talk) 20:55, 12 July 2018 (UTC)
- Indeed. I was wondering why there is a picture of someone pretending to be the person about whom the article was written. I wonder, does the article on "Moses" feature a photo of Charlton Heston? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.95.43.253 (talk) 23:30, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
- You both do know that snicket isn't a real person, right? It's what we call a 'pen name' , but he's also a fictional person. What Snicket definitely isn't is Daniel Handler, who is a real person. Eddie891 Talk Work 23:33, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
Lemony Snicket or Daniel Handler?
[edit]For me Lemony Snicket is better than being Daniel Handler. Lemony has this very unique character of being very frank about his writings. You see, there are actually a lot or almost all of these days' authors that are very flowery with the words they are using in promoting their books so that many would buy it but i think it's very usual and nowadays people are actually looking for something different. In the way Lemony talks about his books it seems like he don't even like his writings, but it gathers a lot of book enthusiasts especially the young ones because they get intrigued and they are curious of what he is actually talking about. Anyway, my point here is that i wish he would remain as Lemony Snicket forever. I love him. --125.212.105.112 13:43, 19 September 2007 (UTC) (emo_carmela66@yahoo.com)
- Canonically, Lemony Snicket is a character in The Series of Unfortunate Events. He is not Daniel Handler's pen name any more than Newt Scamander is JK Rowling's pen name in Fantastic Beasts. He is a minor character and this is why many confuse him with being a pen name. This must be changed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.130.62.230 (talk • contribs) 16:53, 4 June 2018 (UTC)
Proof?
[edit]How is it that we even know that Lemony snicket is Daniel handler? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jopug (talk • contribs) 13:09, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
- Because of all the interviews he's given in correlation to the series?--CyberGhostface (talk) 03:38, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
"legal pen name"
[edit]What is a legal pen name? How is that different from a pen name which is not legal? I understand that a (not particularly authoritative) source was found that describes it that way, but what does it mean? I've removed it unless someone can explain why this is an important point. john k (talk) 14:17, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
Did he die?
