Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here. | ||
---|---|---|
Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection) After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:ProtectedPages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.
Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level
Request unprotection of a page, or reducing the protection level
Request a specific edit to a protected page
Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here |

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Constant edit warring and content removal. Please keep it protected for at least six months. Ilhamnobi (talk) 14:24, 2 March 2025 (UTC)
Indefinite full protection: Content dispute/edit warring – IP(s) based in Austin, TX keeps deleting part of source/reference for critics table of Best Films, stating "no reliable source" whilst leaving part of reference intact. I have attempted to contact them via one of their Talk pages to no avail. So far they have deleted part of source three times over four days and no doubt will continue using a diiferent IP each time. IP's are: 2005:a601:a09:be00:b135:4a8b:4c6a:8d4

Reason: This is a redirect has a long established consensus to redirect to Witchcraft and is supposed to be protected per the template, but for some reason the protection seems to have been removed. Skyerise (talk) 16:59, 2 March 2025 (UTC)
Semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Multiple instances over the last year (1, 2, 3, 4; 3 and 4 were both in the last couple days) of editors, some IP and some with accounts, creating an article here despite the subject already having an article at Evanescence. Waste of editing time to keep having to undo those, and it's disruptively replacing a useful redirect with a barren article that I can't imagine any reader would find helpful. QuietHere (talk | contributions) 17:35, 2 March 2025 (UTC)
Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Vandalism has persisted, despite protection being turned down a few days ago. Nswix (talk) 17:39, 2 March 2025 (UTC)

Reason: Several attempts by WP:SPA, probably for political reasons, to hide the birthplace of Shibli-Umm al-Ghanam, which can be proven by contemporary articles and is cited in the discussion, and to replace it with 'Palestine', which is factually incorrect. Mdphddr (talk) 18:23, 2 March 2025 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – no constructive edits by IPs in the past week ; most edits have either been reverted or declined. quebecguy ⚜️ (talk | contribs) 18:48, 2 March 2025 (UTC)

Reason: High level of IP vandalism. I dare say "the usual" for handball articles, being the addition of unsourced or uncomfirmed rumors. Most of the recent edits are the addition and removal of rumots. 85.83.210.161 (talk) 21:38, 2 March 2025 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection: BLP policy violations – This controversial BLP has been experiencing a significant amount of disruptive editing by IPs recently; mostly involving the subtle changing of facts: [3][4][5][6][7]. Hatman31 (he/him · talk · contribs) 22:33, 2 March 2025 (UTC)

Reason: Daily, consistent level of vandalism. The same unregistered user(s) continue to erroneously claim that the film takes place in a particular region of the real world contrary to the fictional location where it is said to be located in the film, including a false category, and claiming that the film's screenwriter wrote a film that she did not write, all without sources or valid reasoning. Semi-page protection is being kindly requested, though more protection seems likely in the future. DESERTSCHo0L20 (talk) 00:44, 3 March 2025 (UTC)
Indefinite extended confirmed protection: Arbitration enforcement – Per Wikipedia:Contentious topics/Arab–Israeli conflict. Warm Regards, Miminity (Talk?) (me contribs) 02:21, 3 March 2025 (UTC)
Current requests for reduction in protection level
Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.
- To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
- Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
- Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
- If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.
Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
Remove Indefinitely Extended Confirmed Protection: Persistent Vandalism – The protection is no longer necessary because it has no edit auto confirmed user it has no vandalism for a long time but we wanna test if the protection is still needed but first test unprotected if it works if not then we will go back to extended confirmed protection it has no restriction at Arbitration enforcement is been a while since November 19, 2017 give a try first if not then we will go back to protection test it see if it works. 2603:7000:8100:29F1:1F8B:77CB:AD52:38FB (talk) 08:10, 1 March 2025 (UTC)

[[Cyberbot I]] I know it is protected but I'm trying to decreased by lifting the protection we will leave to administrator. 2603:7000:8100:29F1:1F8B:77CB:AD52:38FB (talk) 08:23, 1 March 2025 (UTC)
- It was actually unprotected for a brief period in 2023 due to a full-protection expiring, and was put back on XCP after 6 hours unprotected. —Jéské Couriano v^_^v threads critiques 15:53, 2 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Jéské Couriano it doesn't matter this page has been extended protected since November 19, 2017 but the point is they full protection twice temporary first of all it was on May 28, 2018 by Deepfriedokra and restored by EdJohnston on May 31, 2018 and second of all by NinjaRobotPirate on March 1, 2023 and restored by Favonian on March 3, 2023 so I was still trying to test it out to lift the protection if it doesn't work out then we will go back to extended protection I will still leave it to administrator. 2603:7000:8100:29F1:9155:A704:767E:EE15 (talk) 23:00, 2 March 2025 (UTC)
Reason: Recent edits especially the one about Zionists wanting as much land with as many Jews and as few Arabs as possible violates Wikipedia's policy on OBJECTIVENESS AND NEUTRALITY and serves NO PURPOSE other than to promote an Anti-Zionist political agenda If someone violates Wikipedia's policy on OBJECTIVENESS AND NEUTRALITY by editing Wikipedia to promote a political agenda then people should AT LEAST be able to FIX that BAD EDIT The people who made those bad edits on that article are no better than Joseph Geobells and whoever locked it down is no better than Neville Chamberlain MattTheMissourian (talk) 01:17, 3 March 2025 (UTC)
Not done – Muboshgu (talk) 01:18, 3 March 2025 (UTC)
@Muboshgu you didn't give a reason for declined this page why? 2603:7000:8100:29F1:1F5C:9D50:E80F:3A02 (talk) 01:36, 3 March 2025 (UTC)
- I'm expected to give a reason when the request equates us to Goebbels and Chamberlain? – Muboshgu (talk) 01:52, 3 March 2025 (UTC)
Current requests for edits to a protected page
Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here
Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.
- Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among
{{Edit protected}}
,{{Edit template-protected}}
,{{Edit extended-protected}}
, or{{Edit semi-protected}}
to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}}
template should be used. - Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
- If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
- This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.
Kendricks personal life tab was recently edited. The last person to edit was Saloni Jain22 as of now (5 hours ago). The incorrect information is under his personal life tab. "In an October 2012 interview, he stated that he once tried marijuana, but the blunt was laced with PCP". The drug last started is incorrect and should be replaced with "angel dust" or more commonly known as, cocaine. The link that is attached is a YouTube video with kendrick literally stating verbatim. he has also referenced this is two songs on his GOOD Kid MAAD city album. Once at the end of "Peer Pressure" and again in m.a.a.d city he refers to it making him "foam at the mouth". You're welcome 2601:98D:C182:7000:6040:86B0:1916:8063 (talk) 22:04, 25 February 2025 (UTC)
Note: PCP is angel dust. Worgisbor (Talking's fun!) 22:42, 28 February 2025 (UTC)
Append this to the proposals at the bottom of the list. VPPR is AC protected indefinitely.
- Remove GS/UKU
This active sanction has been applied since 2014, over 11 years ago. Wikipedia and the world has since then changed. This creates unnecessary bureaucratic waste, templates are not needed, and overall there is no reason to have GS/UKU. Most pages involving Units in the United Kingdom are unprotected fully (edit and move) and there is no vandalism happening. There is not even an article on units in the united kingdom because its simply not notable which shows just how useless this sanction is. Very few people in the world actually care about metric or imperial and they don't have time to vandalize Wikipedia in support of a measurement system. Additionally, the final sanction recorded was in 2014, further proving my point. The Wikipedia community has a problem of not being able to see 5 minutes into the future (figuratively), what may seem logical at the time can quickly grow outdated, and now its 11 years outdated. With no real reason as to prop up the sanctions regime, I propose that the community finally officially shelve the sanction for good. 192.184.158.127 (talk) 06:12, 2 March 2025 (UTC)
- This probably belongs at WP:AN where a previous discussion in 2020, Special:Permalink/952449825#Removal of community general sanctions on Units in the United Kingdom, did not result in consensus to revoke sanctions. — Malcolmxl5 (talk) 09:00, 2 March 2025 (UTC)
